Turlock Community Scores with Stadium Redevelopment
Submitted by truthseekers on Fri, 2009-11-20 06:51.The collaborative effort between the Turlock City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency, and the Turlock Unified School District to renovate Joe Debely Stadium is a visionary project, a project which will provide an opportunity for two public agencies to work together for the benefit of our entire community in a number of ways which neither agency could currently achieve alone.
The proposed project will rebuild the woefully inadequate stadium that serves both of Turlock's high schools' student bodies and the whole community. One benefit of turfing the field and installing an all-weather track will be increased usability and availability of the stadium venue to better serve both Turlock high schools and the city's residents. The new track and turfed field stadium can accommodate numerous important community events, such as the American Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life.
Olsen and Council Can't find Money for the Parks But can find Money to cover their mistakes with the Bus Garage
Submitted by truthseekers on Mon, 2009-11-02 06:25.While Kristin Olsen voted to close Parks and park restrooms because they didn't have any money, they sure found EXTRA money when it came to covering their mistakes is planning the Bus Garage. Can you imagine the cost over runs when it's being built when it cost Modesto over an extra third just for the plans.
We have to many insiders on the council it's time to send a message of "NO MORE" will we tolerate campaign contributions in exchange for votes favoring special interests.

[UPDATE] The chat is over, but the link below will take you to the transcript of the chat.
We're trying something new on modbee.com this morning: a live chat with our Turlock reporter, Patty Guerra.
While we've done a few "live" events on our Talking to the Top blog here on the Hive, this one uses new technology that's essentially an instant messaging format. Participants don't need to sign in formally. We'll be using the "Cover It Live" utility that many newspapers and Web sites have been trying of late.
If you have concerns about Turlock - or are curious about how this chat goes - head to this link at 11 o'clock. Patty will be chatting on the site for roughly an hour.
Where are the Turlock activists? Turlock City-Owned Homes are a Mess
Submitted by truthseekers on Thu, 2009-09-24 22:30.It appears thet Turlock activists should stay home and take care of Turlock!
When is the city of Turlock going to clean up this mess? The city bought three homes and now they're a mess. See for yourself; the addresses are 230, 244 and 260 Florence St. It's where the parking lot for the new police station is going to be. These were beautiful homes. Now homeless people are breaking into these empty homes.
Can we send you a letter saying you have 15 to 20 days to clean up your property? Or can we clean it and then send you a bill? That's way too funny? Oh? That's right! The city doesn't have any money because the mayor and council members do what they want with the money that really belongs to the taxpayers of Turlock.
City Of Turlock, is trying to steal my house?
Submitted by ripgriggs on Fri, 2009-08-28 06:23.The city of Turlock is trying to aquire my house through Eminent Domain.
They have used many tactics that some would consider illigal.
Such as not disclosing information, hiding information, lying, filling emenent domain (trying to wait to see if house forclosed so they would not have to compensate me) having local police harrass me (been pulled over 8 times within the last 2 months with NO TICKET!) (been detained and slammed with guns drawn on me in front of my house for no reason at the same property that they are trying to aquire through eminent domain.) (police fail to take a police report for me or anyone close to me).
