Where in the Constitution does it bestow rights upon the individual to live in a drug free society?
Submitted by JosiahRivers on Sat, 2009-11-14 10:27.Activist1 now claims it is her "inalienable right" as guaranteed in the Constitution of the United States of America to keep marijuana illegal. I have yet to find the pertinent passage alluding to her assertion.
My challenge to all Hivers on both sides of the issue is to show me that this "inalienable right" does indeed exist, or conversely, that the present prohibition on personal marijuana use is in itself unconstitutional.
Of course Linda will not be able to defend her position, as usual. She will chime in with an insulting/hateful comment claiming there is nothing to debate, again, as usual. Expect her comments too include pfffft, LOL, and the ever popular "you legalizers".
How about it Hivers, what are your thoughts on this?

It's time to rein in the lawyers
Submitted by JosiahRivers on Wed, 2009-11-11 18:59.Part of the problem...a large part...of our present legal system lays squarely with the lawyers. Anyone with enough money can literally get away with murder...just ask OJ.
Major drug dealers...with nearly unlimited funds...are thumbing there noses at law abiding society...buying innocent verdicts as easily as they cross the border with there lethal narcotics. The rich...movie stars...athletes..musicians...feel that they are above the law. They are...as long as they can unfairly manipulate the system to there advantage!

Sheriff caught in a web of lies..Stanislaus County Sheriff defends sexual harassment class
Submitted by truthseekers on Tue, 2009-11-10 06:33.You read it here a week before the McClatchy News printed the story here, and at www.voiceofmodesto.org . Our Sheriff mislead the McClatchy News and the citizens of Stanislaus County once again.
Here is Garth Stapley's story, a day late(well actually a week late) and a dollar short....
The only Stanislaus County department among 27 that opts out of conventional sexual harassment training has been contending with three lawsuits brought by a total of six female employees.
The other 26 county departments, uniformly educated on combating sexual harassment, face one lawsuit brought by one woman claiming gender and disability bias.
Sheriff Adam Christianson defended his department's internal program, which meets a 5-year-old state law requiring sexual harassment training for supervisors every two years.

It's time to revisit Three Strikes laws
Submitted by JosiahRivers on Mon, 2009-11-09 18:45.As has been pointed out by the liberal legalizer crowd on The Hive, the United States has more prisoners per capita than any other nation on earth...more than even nations like North Korea, China, or the Soviet Union. Three Strikes laws seem to have little deterent value for the most hardcore of our felons...something new must be tried. At an average cost of $35,000 per year per felon we simply cannot afford to keep locking Three Strikers up for life...a cost that will bankrupt this once moral and great nation. It's time to "man up" and do what we should have done long ago...Three Strikes and your out...out of time on this earth! We need to raise the penalty to a capitol offense...rather than feed, clothe, shelter, and provide medical care to those who wish to wage war on society through there deviant behavior...we need to eliminate them. We need to streamline the process and carry out the executions in a swift and timely fashion.
Grow house owned by City of Modest burns
Submitted by ZER on Sat, 2009-11-07 18:12.The city owned grow house that burned to the ground could have another theroy on how and why this happened. It could be that certain tweekers from a certain neighborhood by the airport or in the vicinity of the airport possibly saw the article in the Bee about the pot raid and realized that all of the occupants were in jail and having been to this house on previous occasions realized the place could be a gold mine for anything left in the house. Airconditioners, growing equipment, lights, fixtures and anything else not nailed down or siezed by the police, went over there and took what they could, then covered thier tracks by setting the home ablaze. Someone should find out after the fire was put out if there was anything missing, such as the items above. If what I'm saying is accurate it should be looked into.
Cops Taser man with his hands already on the police car
Submitted by BikeRackIV on Fri, 2009-11-06 22:22.Some hillbilly's might say he probably deserved it for being black after 5pm on a weekday.
I just looked at the article. And he's actually black. And the Cop was white.
They really need to get some sort of affirmative action going on for police brutality victims.
I want to see some Wall Street CEOs tasered. I think for too long, rich white people have been excluded from police brutality. I think it's time they had a chance to be beaten about the head with a nightstick.

Rolando Ruiz is the man featured in yet another taser video making the rounds on Youtube. Ruiz was in police custody after being arrested by a Minneapolis police officer for reportedly throwing a brick at an officer’s vehicle.
