Garth Stapley Confirms What VOICE OF MODESTO has Been Saying about the Sheriff's Contributions

Bt Garth Stapley

Six executives of a Tennessee-based company that landed a multimillion-dollar contract running health care in the sheriff's jails contributed a total of $5,800, including a nonmonetary "Nashville getaway prize" worth $1,800, presumably used in a campaign fund-raiser.

In April, Correct Care Solutions won a bid over California Forensic Medical Group, which had provided inmate health care for more than 20 years. A screening committee with representatives from the county's chief executive office, county counsel, probation department and Christianson's department ranked Correct Care highest.

"(Christianson) was the one pushing for this company (Correct Care)," DeMartini said. "Maybe they're paying him back."

Name of Filer: Friends to Re-elect Sheriff Adam Christianson 2010..This is Adam's One and Only 460 Despite What Others Might Say

It is Adam Christianson's re-election committee.  That is where ALL of the information I have been posting comes from.

Anyone who says any thing different is misleading the reader.

This committee accepts donations for him and pays his bills.  It is an Officeholder or Candidate Controlled Committee.  It states that at the top of the form.

This came directly from the Stanislaus County Clerk/Recorder's Office.

Nothing has been changed or altered.

I will continue to enlighten readers/voters as the election season goes along.

MID Wants to Deny Rate Payers a Voice...We Could Have Saved Ourselves About $30 Million Dollars

It's not suprising MID is against the PG&E proposal since ratepayers would actually have a say before they went out and lost MILLIONS of DOLLARS in a debacle like Mountain House.

Mountain House is North of Tracy and we have no business being there.  MID refuses to provide an accurate accounting of costs and losses saying the serve customers not geographies, but since we continue to throw good money after bad maybe it's time to bring it to a halt since they seem unable to admit their previous bad decisions.

Here's John Hollands article

The Modesto Irrigation District has come out against a June ballot measure that could hinder expansion of its electricity service areas.

The district board voted 5-0 on Tuesday to oppose the measure, which is sponsored by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and aimed at public agencies that might compete with it for territory in California.

MID Goes on a Spending Spree and Maxes Out its Credit

The MID Board today authorized Allen Short to buy into the soon to be built Lodi plant for a 30 MW (Mega Watt) share.

Interestingly enough this wasn’t one of the options presented to the board or to the public.  Tom Van Groningen made the motion and despite calls from several public speakers for more information the board voted 3-2 with Hensley and Kidd being the two dissenters.

It was noted that MID has refused to make cost cutting measures such as stopping the flood of Mountain House red ink.  A concern was noted that possibly the board is going to try to slash the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers contract offer while maintaining the extremely lucrative pay for executives.
