Catching some ZzZzZz's

I have recently come to the conclusion that I need more sleep. Not just because I catch my self struggling to keep my eyes open in government class, but because I have seem to lost a certain feeling I use to get when I was a kid. Sounds strange but let me explain. When I was younger I had the hardest time going to sleep alone. I was the one still begging to sleep in my parent’s bed every night...all the way up to…well, about first grade. Yes, I have no shame. And even up to middle school, though I slept in my own bed (I promise); I still had the urge to crawl into bed and snuggle my Mom. Up until this year, I use to think that this “mommy closeness” craving would probably be with me the rest of my life. I now find myself in the deepest possible sleep less then a minute after I close my eyes. I no longer have the impulse to crawl in bed with my mom. Some may think that this is obviously a positive step in my life and maybe means I am finally almost my own independent person and blah blah blah. While they may be right, I have taken this absence of my “mommy closeness” urge as a sign. I need more sleep, not just to keep my eyes open in government class, but so I am not so exhausted by bedtime that I don’t feel the slightest bit of an urge to crawl in bed with my mom. I need more sleep.

Do what I do - and what Hunter S. Thompson use to do...

Get an old Zenith black and white with a really big antenna and tune the uhf to a stereotyped image of an indian test pattern so you can still hear the static - knock back a couple of gummie bears and drool the night away.

I love something to cuddle

Oh me too, but not with my mommy.  I snuggle with my cats.  We rescued an abandoned kitten at the shelter, and he had a great need to snuggle with me, his rescuer, in order to even go to sleep.  He slept with me all night long when he first arrived, as he was very ill on top of everything.  We nursed him back to health, and he still loves to come to me in the night and snuggle up, purring his head off.  I have to admit that I've grown accustomed to having this, and feel neglected whenever he isn't there (out catting around during a full moon, say)....  and also I'm not too old to have a teddy bear.  I mean, why not?  :c)

Oh, what a suprise....

Pastel has something nice to say.....who would have thought that vacillation works both ways.

How much sense does that make, Pastel?

fishin for zzzz's

Rather than vitamins, zenith's, or cats, i watch my fish when i can't sleep. I just zone out watching the tank, and then my eyes get all googly, and the next thing i know i'm dreaming that i'm a fish in a magical underwater wonderland!!!

That is something that works for me, too.  In fact, I wish I had my fishtank in the bedroom...  that would be so cool.

I love to cuddle

my 4 year old son. He's the best cuddler in the world! I also really dig some warm tea, to help me sleep...and some old zombie flicks.
