ExtraCredit: Prescott Teachers Dance to "Thriller"

This is a few weeks old, but I came across it today and thought it was worth sharing.
North Modesto's Prescott Senior Elementary held its monthly student-of-the-month assembly Oct. 30, and teachers wanted to surprise students with a performance of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." They mirrored the pop king's video, dressing as zombies and following similar choreography that made the video so popular. Click here to watch the teachers in the five-minute video. Vice Principal Susan Jeffery learned the dance steps and taught about a dozen seventh- and eighth-grade teachers and the librarian. They spent about a month rehearsing. Even though some students might be too young to be a Jackson fan, they know "Thriller" and immediately cheered and screamed as the first few notes came over the gym speakers. Toward the end, teacher John Coxford puts on a hat and moon walks, a la Jackson.
"It's a nice thing to humanize their teachers and show kids that (teachers) can have fun, too," Jeffery said. "And it also reminded teachers of what it's like to learn something new."
The dance went over well -- with students enjoying the performance and teachers feeling special, she said.
