Teabaggers
I really don’t like to write things that paint anyone in a bad light, but I just couldn’t pass this up. As I watched the Teabaggers yesterday, and the leaders of the Republican Party that were there and how they were talking about how patriotic they were, it amazed me that they didn’t have things together. One of the things that struck me was Todd Akin (R-MO) as he was about to lead the crowed in the Pledge of Allegiance and his actual leading in that Pledge. First of all he said the it drove Liberals crazy; well that just in nothing short of a bald faced lie. I am a Liberal and for one thing I know the Pledge, which he doesn’t, secondly I have no problem saying it and living it. When I say he doesn’t know it that’s just what I mean. He led the crowd and when it came to the word “indivisible” he forgot it, the crowd had to interject it. He obviously doesn’t think much about his allegiance to this Republic, and if that is the case how can he claim to be such a great patriot? Doesn’t sound too patriotic to me.
Then there was John Boehner and this is really some kind of patriotic. He stood there waving a copy of the Constitution and then he proposes to quote the preamble, which is fine and good in my opinion, except for the fact that he said “We hold these truths to be self evident” and continues on but what he was quoting was the Declaration of Independence. I see this quite a bit with the right wing talking heads, but to see the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives standing there with a copy in his hand and still not be able to quote the right document is really something. There are several reasons he did this, as I see it. He doesn’t know the difference and that doesn’t matter because he doesn’t think the crowd is smart enough to know the difference either. This is the theory I believe, there is another theory that will cover both of these gaffs and that is they intentionally did t to leave out the fact that what they were and are doing is extremely divisive and if he’d have quoted the Constitution the divisiveness these people are promoting would have been mentioned.
The thing is he has taken an oath to defend the document that he doesn’t even know what document it is that he is going to defend. It seems to me that if you are going to quote something and you have a copy of what you are quoting you should be able to get it right.

Let's review your buddy Joe Biden's gaffes:
5. "Look, John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs." --Joe Biden
4. "A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States — Barack America!" --Joe Biden, at his first campaign rally with Barack Obama (Watch video clip)
3. "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." –Joe Biden, apparently unaware that FDR wasn't president when the stock market crashed in 1929 and that only experimental TV sets were in use at that time
2. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me." --Joe Biden, speaking at a town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire
1. "Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see ya." –-Joe Biden, to Missouri state Sen. Chuck Graham, who is in a wheelchair, Columbia, Missouri, Sept. 12, 2008 (Watch video clip)
Don't forget, Charlie - Barack said the U.S. had over 50 states during the election last year. Classic!
Your party is just as culpable here, buddy.
Lockett = double standards. Now go watch your MSNBC and CNN so you can feel better about yourself.

I feel good about myself; I don’t understand why you would think I didn’t. What makes you think Mr. Biden is my buddy? Do you know something about me that I am unaware of, like the list of my friends? The truth is I have never met Joe Biden, so I don’t think he qualifies as a buddy of mine. The thing with this man is, like Dean Martin he can laugh at himself, and when he says those dumb things he laughs just as hard as or harder than anyone else. Although this blog is not about him and his gaffs, there isn’t much bad you can say about this man. Not many men would have done what he did as a single father, especially a politician. Talk about family values, that’s a man that has an abundance of it.
Let’s get back to what I wrote about, shall we? Don’t you think that these gaffs are really much more telling than just mis-speaking? I mean here are two men standing in front of a crowd and inciting this crowd and talking about how patriotic they are, both are elected officials, one is the Minority Leader in the House and one doesn’t know the words to the Pledge of Allegiance and the other doesn’t know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Think about it, I’m older than they are and I know the words and the difference between the two documents.
I think comparing what Biden says and not knowing the difference between the two most important documents of this country, and not knowing the words to the Pledge, is oranges and apples.

Biden Doesn't salute the swastika and the teabaggers do
what more needs ti be said.
If I were a gambler I’d
If I were a gambler I’d bet that Mr. Biden knows the Pledge and the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
Think about this, I just heard it, these people are like the Hippies except they aren’t getting all that free sex, and God forbid drugs.
You do realize that one of the main people in Freedom Works was involved in the biggest medical corruption scandals ever, no wonder he is against any more reform. Freedom Works is the ones that are bussing these people into these tea parties.

Teabaggers
I have a hard time believing you when you say you really don't like to write things that paint anyone in a bad light. Based on your past opinions on the hive I believe you couldn't wait to point out how stupid the teabaggers and the Republicans are. To doubt someone's patriotism because he momentarily drew a blank while reciting the pledge is pretty low. Or maybe he attended a school where the students were not allowed to recite it. A good example of people being unpatriotic are those that burn the flag or say they hate this country. By the way, in case you haven't noticed, all or most of those just happen to be on the far left.
If I were a gambler I would bet that John Boehner knows the difference between the preamble and the Declaration of Independence but mis-spoke like everyone does on occasion. Maybe his Tele-promter went blank like Obama's does from time to time. As much as I disapprove of 99% of what Obama has done I am sure he knows that there are 50 states and not 57 as he once said. He once made reference to his Muslim faith and then corrected himself. Was that a mistake or the true Obama coming out? I'm sure if you look a little harder you will find that all politicians make mistakes and it doesn't matter what party they are attached to.
Just a sample of Obama's mistakes can be found at the following site.

Your post really bothers me, and I take offence to what you have written. It’s obvious to me that you have not read many of the things I write, if you did then you would not write what you just wrote.
I am a liberal and I am opinionated, there is no argument there. If you would bother to read what I write you would see that I state my opinion with facts. I do not attack anyone, except for one person on the Hive. I don’t criticize the remarks, or the people making those remarks. I state what I believe and I allow others to state what they believe. As long as it doesn’t get nasty I will go back and forth with anyone here or anywhere else for that matter.
I do not, as some do on a continuing basis, spread gossip and innuendo. I do not write things that are just petty and designed to do nothing more than make a person look bad. I wrote this because of the hypocrisy of these two men, not to make them look bad but to show how they saw an opportunity to get on the side they think is the new Republican Party. I hear quite often Conservative Talk Radio hosts do exactly the same thing; they talk about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and equate it with the Constitution, This transfers to the non-thinkers that just repeat what these people say. They don’t check to see if what is being said is true or factual.
I found some of the signs extremely offensive and demeaning. It was demeaning the Holocaust by having that banner of bodies there and equating it with Health Care reform. To me it belittles the 6 Million plus that were slaughtered in those concentration camps and elsewhere. I’m not Jewish, but I have toured some of those camps and saw for my own eyes where these people were exterminated, and to use that for anything but what it is does all of those people an injustice. And for these party leaders to autograph these posters is on the verge of criminal. For an elected official to stand there and advocate revolution is criminal.
Why do they do these things, because you don’t think exactly the way they think. And these politicians were playing up to those people and acting as if they were something more than opportunist. That was the purpose of this post.

I have read many of your posts and find them interesting and informative. In fact I look for you posts almost every time I get on the Modesto Bee website. I did not intend to offend you, but this is not the first time you have questioned someone's intelligence or patriotism although most have been respectful. I do not agree with most of the liberal agenda because I believe it will eventually destroy this country, but I do not think that you or any other liberal are less intelligent or unpatriotic. I also do not agree with all of the republican agenda, but I find it to be the lesser of two evils. There is a lot of hypocrisy on both sides of the isle. You mention the signs that you found offensive. Were you just as offended when you saw some of the signs held by anti Bush demonstrators? I hope Obama is able to get this country back on its feet but I also hope his socialist agenda fails. So far I have seen nothing that will help in the long run. In fact the real damage that has been done will not be seen until Obama is long gone.
Contradictions abound!
"I do not attack anyone, except.."
"I really don’t like to write things that paint anyone in a bad light, but I just couldn’t pass this up."
"I do not write things that are just petty and designed to do nothing more than make a person look bad." "Teabaggers"
