How was District 4 won outright?..........shillism !

How was District 4 won outright? - Money, energy, and a positive message carried Joe Muratore to an unexpectedly large victory in his race for a Modesto City Council seat representing the La Loma and airport neighborhoods, political observers say. His margin of victory Tuesday - 54 percent - allows him to bypass a December runoff despite dogged campaigns run by opponents Jeff Perine and Robert Stanford. Joe Muratore - Bart Ah You

Joe had a little help from his friends.

Ryan Swehla is Joe Muratore's " friend " and business partner, Ryan Swehla helped design the current district election map for district-4 which Joe Muratore defeated his opponents ROBERT STANFORD AND JEFF PERINE for the Modesto City council elections.

I'm not a candidate so I don't have to worry about appeasing the Modesto Bee reporters, can anyone else see what I am seeing here.?

THE MAP FAVORED VOTES FOR JOE MURATORE !

Sour grapes my foot.

The election was rigged ! for Joe Muratore.

We cannot allow our elections process to be manipulated.

Before I said, I would not pursue getting involved in the political corruption. I now pledge to get involved in exposing this corruption. FFPC will be notified.

PROTEST,PROTEST, PROTEST !

THIS BLOG OR COMMENT WAS WRITTEN BY WAYNE2008 WHO IS A PROTESTER AGAINST WHAT HE BELIEVES IS MISMANAGEMENT OR CORRUPTION IN OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. WAYNE IS ALSO AN ADVOCATE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT FOR THE MENTALLY ILL, AND IS AGAINST RACISM IN ALL FORMS.

Analysis, Wayne08

Leslie Albrecht provided some interesting analysis of the outcome of the District 4 race. She said it came down to three things:

1. Money - I agree, Joe raised over $30,000 to pay for six mailers. Jeff Perine had two, Stanford had no mailers but did pass out flyers.

2. Energy - Apparently Joe made 1,000 phone calls the weekend before the election by working up to 15 hours one of those two days before the election (Saturday or Sunday). Joe also got on a lot of boards before the election - Red Shield, La Loma Neighborhood Association, downtown Entertainment Commission, and he was part of the Measure S campaign for the half-cent sales tax. Joe was also in tight with downtown music icon Chris Ricci (X-Fest organizer).

3. His message - we can all debate that til we're blue in the face but Joe's message apparently resonated. He said the right things, did the right things, and it worked. Joe also had a flexible schedule with his work right here in town. Bob took  his message to the Hive, to the Morning Mayor, but things didn't go as well on KFIV 1360. Jeff Perine was working in Stockton as I understand it so it stands to reason he wasn't in Modesto much of the time.

As I understand it, Bob is a bit subdued by the outcome. I don't blame him. I would just kindly suggest to him perhaps running for something down the road. For now, I think he ought to get on the Community Qualities Forum or something similar. Wayne, Bob has got to start somewhere. He's only 43 - he's got a lot of mileage left, a lot of passion for advocacy for the Airport District, drug needle users, and homeless people.

C.O. so you turned into a parrot for the BEE

Or should I say, MAGPIE

Did you not read my blog?

Explain the map being drawn up by Muratore's business partner ?

Perine's camp should be somewhat concerned about this also, it was fixed !

No this is no longer about Stanford, this is about the political manipulation in our local government........CORRUPTION!

What does Stanfords age have to do with anything in this race, an 80-year-old man could have won this race, if the district map was designed especially for him.

Parrot Wayne

Wayne - I don't condone or speak for The Bee at all. As someone who has NEVER subscribed to the Bee, please don't count me as one of their supporters. Remember, Wayne - I'm the one who's reporting to you about their declining personnel levels. That's hardly someone who's a Bee supporters.

But let's get back to the issue - I read your blog. I just didn't put much stock in your analysis. I think there's more to this race than just "shill-ism". It really came down to Joe working harder, smarter, forming alliances with the right people, and having more money.

Merely explaining that does not in any way constitute an implied endorsement of him, Wayne. It's easy to disseminate pejorative platitudes for or against an issue or candidate. It's much more difficult but prudent nonetheless to explain the reasons for something, which is what I've tried to convey herein, Wayne.

C.O. your wrong

I was a subscriber to the Modesto Bee, since you brought it up. 3 days of the week I would recieve the paper though I paid full price for the several months in advance for 7 days per week.

This has nothing to do with the Modesto Bee's mismanagement, I stopped subscribing to the bee three years ago.

This about the about the Modesto BEE not putting out the facts and spinning the news.

And did you not repeat what Leslie Albrecht had already said? yes you did your a talking MAGPIE like reelthing, and mtber.

Can we have a new election?

I think that would be the fair way to handle this issue.

Will do.

Thank You.

Wayne...from my perspective you and curious are both

getting the information out...maybe from different opinions or views....but it is getting up.

I agree with what you and CO both post.

I think he was helped by the layout of the districts...and I believe he was able to get his positive message to those who wanted to hear it.

I am still bothered by his comments suggesting the airport district model themselves after his success with La Loma.

But....he can now work toward that goal....and help bring quality of life to the airport district.

It may not start with private security...but lights and sidewalks would be nice.
