Is Radical Islam To Blame?

jheaton's picture

It, of course, is a fair question to ask. Was this guy a life long Muslim or did he convert recently. What was his motives? Did he have partners? Why shoot his fellow soldiers? Was it in the name of allah that he killed innocent people?

AP source: Fort Hood shooting suspect Army major

WASHINGTON — Officials say a shooting suspect at Fort Hood has been identified as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan, who they say was an Army mental health professional.

A law enforcement official said Hasan, believed to be in his late 30s, was killed after opening fire at the base. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

A defense official speaking on condition of anonymity says Hasan was a mental health professional — an Army psychologist or psychiatrist.

It was not known whether he was treating people at the base.

Officials says it was not clear what Hasan's religion was, but investigators are trying to determine if Hasan was his birth name or if he may have changed his name and converted to the Islamic faith at some point.

he was a convert

And he was not a radical muslem. I see no connection with a terrorist cell.

This was about racist's calling him a raghead, but of course you wanted this to be about muslem terrorists.

Activist1's picture

That's a good question.

12 people dead, 31 wounded. Was he an Islamic convert? Did it have anything to do with why he shot those soldiers? Was he upset that he was being deployed to Afghanistan and leaving soon?

He was a combat Psychiatrist for heaven's sake! His job was to teach soldiers how to cope!

This news is quite upsetting.

How am I, as the mother of a recently enlisted Army soldier, suppose to comprehend this cowardly act. It's not enough that we have to worry whether our children will make it home safely, now we have to worry about possible  extremsits on our own soil?  My son leaves in January, and I'm not going to sugar coat this... this is what nightmares are made of.

I want to know exactly what happened, and why!

This just in:

..."The Associated Press, quoting federal law enforcement officials, said Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats. The officials said they were still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog item that equates suicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.

Medical records on file in Virginia, where Hasan was born and was registered to practice, and Maryland, where he received his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, revealed no disciplinary actions or formal complaints.

Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone, commanding general of the Army’s III Corps, said the gunman used two handguns."

ACTIVIST1

FOX news has already mentioned that, what was the point you were trying to make anyway.?

Or maybe

He didn't want to deploy, who knows.  At this point it is all speculation.  Maybe he had something to fear if he was deployed.

he should have just

went AWOL his psychiatry career was tanking anyway.

The AP reported...

that his name was found on radical Internet sites - in fact, the feds noticed him six months ago.

Ae

I know Linda's the source on this, but here's the AP's own version of what they reported tonight about the Fort Hood shooter:

WASHINGTON – His name appears on radical Internet postings. A fellow officer says he fought his deployment to Iraq and argued with soldiers who supported U.S. wars. He required counseling as a medical student because of problems with patients.

There are many unknowns about Nidal Malik Hasan, the man authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base. Most of all, his motive. But details of his life and mindset, emerging from official sources and personal acquaintances, are troubling.

jheaton's picture

During....

this time of war with radical Islam, it is very possible that there are spies, sleeper cells at work. Of course, in the coming days we will learn more. But watch how the media, the president, and the communist wing of the democratic party will support Nidal Malik Hasan.....we already see it here at The Hive. We had Nazis supporters in America during WWII. And we have radical Islam supporters now.

He is not a convert

The Army Major is not a convert to Islam.
jheaton's picture

LSK

I have talked to a few folks tonight that said this guy had some Islamic links on his facebook page that now has been deleted. My main concern that the "usual fools" will continue to be caught up in their PC world that certain questions will not be asked. Is he a life long Muslim? Does he have radical ties? Did he act alone? What are his motives? Are Muslims with radical ties being monitored? There will be an incident that will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and a large majority of Americans will either revolt through votes, which I hope is the case, or through physical riots, to take our country back from the communist, and liberal left that is seeking to restructure the government, and redistribute wealth in order to gain complete power. Barry Hussein Obama and his clan must be weepy eyed with joy right now!

This is from the AP

"Hasan, whose family said he was born in suburban Washington, is single with no children. He graduated from Virginia Tech, where he was a member of the ROTC and earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997. He received his medical degree from the military's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., in 2001 and was at Walter Reed for six years for his internship, residency and a fellowship.

"We are shocked and saddened by the terrible events at Fort Hood today," his cousin, Nadar Hasan, said in a statement issued on behalf of their family. "We send the families of the victims our most heartfelt sympathies." "

I'm sorry I had to log out really fast for a minute so I did not get to finish my post.

The Major is a lifelong Muslim. He apparently wanted the US to pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and got into frequent arguments with those who disagreed with him. He had also received a poor performance review from Walter Reed Hospital before being transfered to Fort Hood.

I do think this needs to be thoroughly investigated. This man opened fire on unarmed soldiers. His conduct is reprehensible. If it was motivated by political or religious beliefs then his behavior could be an indication of a deeper problem.

While I won't leap to any conclusions yet, I do think we as a nation would be foolish to ignore the possible implications of this man's ties to a religion that believes 'the means justifies the end'.

He might be in with

Obama and his clan of African  illegals.

Oh I don't think so

"Obama and his clan of illegals" - I am not even sure what that means, so I cannot comment on it.

We cannot let our fear of what MIGHT happen keep us from a proper investigation of what DID happen.

My prayers are with the victims and their families...and I keep the family of the Major in my prayers as well.

I wonder if they will investigate

or just drop the whole thing?

Obama may not really be a citizen and his mom is here

illegally and stays at their house. There are supposed to be more Africans he brought over from his last trip.

Heaton do you think there is a chance he may be tied

in some way to Obama and his plan to take America?

Appreciate your input. You seem to be very knowledgeable and level headed.

why so angry? Truth hurts maybe?

OBS.....you sound a lot like a long time sock puppet poster so I will leave you to your own conclusions.

LSK, there have been quite a few incidents the last few years involving home grown Muslim terrorist. They have been swept under the rug for the most part by many in the media, leftist/communist/Nazi sympo democrats, and some spineless repubs. I hope all servicemen and women who are Muslim are throughly checked. I am sure there are many moderate Muslims in the service that are good, patriotic Americans, but there are also the radical muslims there too. Again, just watch the cry of racism, and support of this Hasan scum from the left, and even those who claim to be conservative. You are already seeing it here on The Hive.

Fort Hood Jihad Update: "Local soldier: Fort Hood shooting 'a bloody mess,'" by T.J. Aulds for The Galveston Daily News, November 5 (thanks to Constantine):

"They were telling him that one guy was shouting something in Arabic while he was shooting," Tom Hunt said. "He couldn't say much more than that."

There is also this from Pamela:

"Malik Nadal Hasan, the jihadi that led the attack on Fort Hood, was quoted as saying "Muslims have the right to rise up against the US military" "The Malik Nadal Hasan Muslims have a right to stand up against the aggressors" "maybe we should have more of these where people strap bombs on themselves and go into Times Square" - this according to Col Terry Lee who worked with Muslim convert.

The mainstream media, of course, is still searching for a motive.

WOW

Just for the record - Our President's mother is dead; if she is in the US illegally then that is quite a nifty trick.

Civilian Cop hailed as Hero

Fort Hood Police Officer Kimberly Munley Directly Engaged Alleged Shooter Army. Major Nidal Malik Hasan

Officials: 43 People Shot, 13 Of Whom Died; Munely Also Wounded In Assault

FORT HOOD, Texas (CBS) ―

At least 13 were killed, all but one of them service members. The alleged shooter, Army. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, was confronted by a civilian police officer. (Read more about Hasan)

Lt. Gen. Bob Cone, the top commander at Fort Hood, said Friday that Fort Hood police Sgt. Kimberly Munley and her partner responded within three minutes of reported gunfire Thursday afternoon. Cone said Munley shot Hasan four times despite being shot herself.

Officials said Munley was in stable condition.

Cone said, "It was an amazing and an aggressive performance by this police officer."

Cone also said he was inspired by a woman who helped carry a wounded victim and used her blouse as a tourniquet, then later realized she'd been shot in the hip.

Hasan, is hospitalized on a ventilator.

Officials have not released the names of those injured or killed in the attack.

Incomplete List Of Victims In Fort Hood Rampage:

  • A soldier from Bolingbrook, Illinois is one of the 13 people killed in the shooting rampage. Family members were distraught as they confirmed that Pfc. Michael Pearson, 21, was killed in the attack. - CBS station WBBM-TV
  • Jamie and Scotty Casteel revealed her son-in-law Matthew Cooke was among the injured. "He's been shot in the abdomen and that's all we know," Jamie Casteel told The Associated Press. She said Cook, from New York state, had been home from Iraq for about a year.
  • The family of a Random Lake, Wisconsin soldier injured in the Fort Hood shooting says Amber Bahr was shot in the back and is undergoing tests. Lisa Pfund says she was relieved when the 19-year-old Bahr finally called Thursday evening. Bahr told her she went running when shots rang out, and didn't realize she'd been hit until she went to an emergency room. - CBS affiliate WKBT-TV
  • Ashley Saucedo told WOOD-TV in Michigan that her husband, Ray Saucedo, was shot in the arm, but she couldn't discuss specifics. Saucedo said she and the couple's two children weren't permitted to leave their home at Fort Hood during the shootings.
  • One of the 30 people injured in the Fort Hood shootings currently lives in the Twin Cities, according to an article in the Star Tribune. The paper reported that Spc. Keara Bono was shot twice. One bullet hit the Missouri native in her back and the other grazed her head. - CBS station WCCO-TV.
  • A Richmond, North Carolina native is among the wounded. Staff Sgt. Alonzo (Mac) Lunsford had been stationed at the Texas base for about a year. Lunsford, who stands near 7-feet-tall, is reportedly in his early 40s. He was shot three or four times and two of the bullets have been removed, according to Mayor Gene McLaurin. - Richmond County Daily Journal
  • George Stratton III,18, called his father a short time after the shootings. George Stratton Jr., from his Post Falls, Idaho home said his son called him from an ambulance on the way to the hospital. He says his son is okay, and was only a few feet away when the shooting started. - KVTB.com
  • Lafayette, Indiana native Nathan Hewitt is one of the wounded soldiers. CBS affiliate WLFI-TV spoke with Hewitt by phone from his hospital bed. He said he is doing well and is trying to keep everyone's spirits up. Hewitt's uncle said his 27-year-old nephew is recovering from a shot wound in the calf and a hip injury. He said Hewitt was at the Fort Hood medical facility when shots were fired.
  • An Iowa soldier who arrived at Fort Hood in Texas for additional training before being deployed overseas was among the soldiers wounded in the rampage, her father revealed Friday. Staff Sgt. Joy Clark, 27, of Des Moines, was shot in the left arm, according to her father Jerry Nelson. - CBS affiliate KIMT

Like LSK said... let's avoid jumping to conclusions. Except ID... he's a jumper from wayback.

An interesting point made by a former Army Colonel I saw this a.m.... no one harasses a major. Certainly not anyone enlisted, and if an officer it would b majors and above (which leaves only colonels and generals).

I think too many just like to argue and be right. A silly investment to my way of thinking...

Infiltration Station......

Frustrating! My posts keep triggering the spam filter. I do see the humor in that:)

Activist your links aren’t working- I’d like to check them out.

That is an interesting fact ae- No one harasses a major. I take it that if people did have questions about this man, most soldiers would be out-of-line in expressing those concerns.

Anyone have any idea how many years it takes to become a Major? Could he have been planning this a long time? Assuming he is a Radical, and I don’t see any reason to believe he’s not, how many more have infiltrated our military and what lies ahead?

Last night

I went to St Joe's to participate in a Holy Hour. The children and adults there made it a point to pray for those who had been wounded, those who had been murdered and (this brought tears to my eyes) for the 'poor soul who thought this was a good thing to do' (words of a 10 year old). I am glad I got to be there for that - it was soothing to my troubled soul.

Since you think of me as being a holy man I must warn you of those who say they are holy are liars. The Christ warned all to beware of those who cry lord, lord there are prophets, when in fact the prophets are no longer.

Thats not so say there are no more seer's

More info on the American Muslim terrrorist

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/6521758/Fort-Hood-shooting-Texas-army-killer-linked-to-September-11-terrorists.html

Fort Hood shooting: Texas army killer linked to September 11 terroristsMajor Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped at a mosque led by a radical imam said to be a "spiritual adviser" to three of the hijackers who attacked America on Sept 11, 2001.

Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year.

The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.

We see no direct link in the source. Let's settle down and wait

Disturbing new details surfaced yesterday about the deranged Fort Hood gunman and his methodical mass murder plot, which survivors say began with him screaming "Allahu akbar," before he fired more than 100 rounds at his fellow soldiers.

The mystery of how Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, failed to draw concern from military brass before the attack -- despite trying to leave the Army for months, denouncing the war on terror and saying he was "a Muslim first and an American second" -- deepened as families prepared to bury his 13 victims.

Most Destructive Terrorist Attack Since 9/11!......

"If the reports that we're receiving of various statements he made, acts he took, are valid, he had turned to Islamist extremism, and, therefore, if that is true, the murder of these 13 people was a terrorist act and, in fact, it was the most destructive terrorist act to be committed on American soil since 9/11," Joe Lieberman

Nice try media. Most Americans aren't fooled by your weak attempts at down-playing what happened at Fort Hood.

I'm sick of hearing about how most Muslim's are peaceful people who aren't terrorists. I just watched the news in which some facts were given about the attack on Fort Hood. Following, was 10 minutes of law abiding, seemingly decent Muslims sharing their concerns about how this attack might reflect on their image. Who cares?! It’s not about YOU!

The segment ends, "Authorities want the public to be aware that the events surrounding Fort Hood are not a reflection of most Muslims in America."................ F-You buddy and F your news channel!!! Americans are not dummies. This attack is being played down in the media. I take offense to these types of disclaimers and should every American, including Muslims.

It would be about "YOU"

If you were a law abiding Muslim living in America. YOU would be plenty worried about how the act of perhaps a coward, meantally ill person hiding behind his faith may impact not only you but your children's  well-being.

This atrocity is the act of a disturbed individual, not an act committed by entire the Muslim faith upon Americans.

I do not have to watch any news to appreciate the slant anyone of them make. And I will not be influenced by FOX, CNN, CNBC or for that matter HLN.

I just can be rest assured that there is more to this story that only time will tell.

This person may just be a sicko who ozzed through the cracks or it may expose a much deeper issue that our military has with weeding out people who may develop issues that make them no longer mentally able and ready to serve.

Very sensible Letmesaythis. Kudos to you.

This is Heatons new source for this situation.

The Religion of peace (sometimes abbreviated as ROP or RoP) is a political neologism used as a description of Islam. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, some politicians described Islam as a "religion of peace" in an effort to differentiate between Islamic terrorists and non-violent Muslims.[1]

Here is his kicker on this: Subsequently, some critics of Islam have adopted the phrase, using the term "Religion of Peace" in a sarcastic manner as a pejorative synonym for Islam.

Neologism is simply a made up word/label to suit one's need at the time.

Let's clean up the filthy trash language AbstrAct.

Letme....You're Wrong....

Matter of fact, you have just made a point against your argument on the other blog. Christians wack-jobs have reared their ugly heads on a number of occasions. I have never seen Christians come out and talk about themselves and how they are fearing victimization immediately following an incident.

Muslim Extremists are the ones who are being persecuted. We are receiving continuous attacks by Muslim Extremists in this Country. I don't care how American Muslims feel. And neither should the those heading our National Security interests and investigations. I care about those who were killed in the line of duty by an impostor- a Terrorist.

We aren't having a world-wide epidemic of Christian Extremists trying to murder people in suicide missions. If we did have them, people would be saying the same things about that group. To bring up Christian wack-jobs is totally irrelevant to any point anyone is making. It sounds like you are asserting that there was not nor would be a similar reaction to it. Not true.

Take your blinders off people. Muslim Extremists are trying to destroy us and taking active steps towards doing so. Who cares that it was one man? It only took two to fly a plane into the Twin Towers. It only takes one to strap a bomb to their body. Whose side are you people on?
