ATTN: Myopic Druggie Loosers

Another brave and valiant anti-drug crusader...Jim Balch...has summed the whole "legalizer movement" up...undisputably...in his recent post "California example not a good one". Thank God for voices of reason like his!

Cannabis is not the problem
Locksmith.
If marihuana is not the problem
I dare you to go to the cite and and unbunk it...you can't...myopic legalizers like yourself...with your immoral and sinister agenda...can only lie!
I know I'm a locksmith. Think of the children!
Cannabis is not a factor is street crime
Never has been. Also, the gateway theory is old hat now.
Did you just take a stool softener Locksmith?
I'll take the dare.
Josiah, you're trying to say that the link you provided is the ultimate proof that legalization of any kind shouldn't happen?
It's four paragraphs from a guy stating his opinion. There are no facts quoted, no statistics included.
Yes, there is violence as a result of the drug war in Latin America. Yes, it's probable that the Mexican cartels and traffickers are involved with marijuana. But I think it's naive to say that it's the only reason for these problems.
I think the harder drugs are the main cause, especially cocaine. How much does a kilo of marijuana get on the street compared to a kilo of cocaine. I think the number may surprise you.
And just as a disclaimer, I'm not really for blanket legalization of anything, so debate what I've said instead of just attacking me as another "myopic legalizer".
I'd rather debate facts than some link that just shows one person's opinion. I guarantee you could find hundreds of opinion pieces just like that which support or condone anything, so it's no real proof of anything.
Locksmith supports prohibition..
..another one of life's mysteries.
Compared to marihuana, cocaine
represents only a fraction of the cartels income...as much as 70%...some say more...of the cartels income is derived from, marihuana! That makes marihuana responsible for at least 70% of the violance...maybe more! Furthermore, if not for marihuana, there would be almost no demand for cocaine...or any other harder narcotic. Very few would try them...if not for marihuana introducing them to a decadent lifestyle...leaving them craving for even greater thrills.

Whoever This Guy Is...
I am glad for the challenge to 'unbunk' something.

What is a "looser"? Is a looser someone who posts a link to a letter to the editor from a newspaper in Albany, GA? Since 9/11 the importation of Marijuana from out of the country has virtually dried up. Nobody buys dirtweed from Mexico loser. It's grown right here locally.

Try reading a book or two. May I suggest Reefer Madness by Eric Schlosser where he presents FACTS not opinion.
As for the Gateway theory, according to your logic, you must consider water to be a gateway to alcohol. Stop lying to your children. When they try pot for the first time and they realize you have been lying to them about it, they think to themselves "What else have my parents been lying to me about." If people had safe legal access to marijuana perhaps they would not be exposed to the criminal underworld that pushes illicit narcotics that are really destroying our nation while we waste our time prosecuting people for a plant.
When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. RISE UP.
