Does your brain work normally

If your brain works normally this is neat.
This is another example of an amazing illusion!!! The last sentence is so true.

If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one color, pink.

However if you stare at the black '
+ ' in the centre, the moving dot turns to green.
Now, concentrate on the black ' + ' in the centre of the picture. After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see only a single green dot rotating.

It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see.

Just thought you'ld like a diversion for awhile....

Maybe it's my comp, beemorethree

But I can't see the pink dot.

Figures Hammy.......

yours probably has to do with a lack of testosterone than with a real experiment.

OK... for those who can't see the dots.

Hopefully this will help somewhat...  If you still can't see the dots... refer to the thread title, call your optometrist immediately .... LOL

umm

wonder what it means when you see lines of both colors of dots at the same time?  as well as the way you reported initially before the dual dots I got...;-)  perhaps it's just WAY too early

Could only mean one thing

You might have been looking at it cross eyed!  Happens when your too tired or it's "too early"...  LOL... Thanks for the note PeaceNLove....

That is really weird. Never tried this before.

It did to me exactly like you explained.

Makes me wonder how many others things I see distorted. Many,..... I suppose.

cross eyed

Actually, Bmoore, I do have a problem with double vision.  They've always added a prism in my glasses to help correct it.  When my eyes are tired I do kinda drift into that soft focus, which is actually how one can begin to see auras and such...;-)  I've been adjustin' to bifocals for almost a year now & don't wear my glasses on the desktop here.  Old monitor.

Thanks for the diversion.  It was a nice shift!

You Know What I Think?.....

I think- how do I know there's really no green dot and there's not really a revolving circle of green dots? Just because you tell me so? I'm more inclined to believe what I see!

Just goes to show how my brain works, LOL. I'm not even certain the Earth is round. I mean, I'm inclined to believe it's probably true, but I've never tested this theory no do I personally know anyone who has:)

AbstrACT... I can see where where you're coming from

however, when you said you are "not even certain the Earth is round"... it kind of made me chuckle....  Before the age of flight, many thought that way ...   even the churches of the world thought that at one time.  Poor Columbus... he was just going to fall off the edge.

A suggestion to change your mind and let you know that the earth is round...  (this is also great for a wonderful vacation)...  get on a plane out of SFO, or OAK, or SAC and take a flight (preferably non-stop) from California to northern Europe (by way of the northern route of flight).  Make sure that the flight has some hours in the day light, and some at night.  If at all possible, try to be just over Iceland or Greenland as the sun sets.  Look out the window to the north (that would be the left side of the plane)... observe the earth.... that should settle any doubt... it's curved...  and it does that all away around.  Then, when you get to your destination, just have a great time sightseeing and having fun.  Spend at least a week (minimum)...  Then reverse the flight and this time look out the right side of the plane at sunset....  Nothing changed?  Yep!  Still curved!

The vacation part in the middle is the best part.  Enjoy!  (Oh, best time for the trip?  Late spring or early fall...  Summer just has too many tourists and costs go up....  The kids will love it too!

Winter?  Been there - done that... too cold for me!

Isn't That Something?.....

Although a little different- The world being round was so progressive it was actually thought of as being adverse to their current facts. It kind of reminds of the "1212" or "Y2K" scares of today. Kind of strange.

At the same time, I'm sure there are many things we think of as fact right now, that 100, 200+ years and beyond will be thought of as ridiculous. For example, blood-letting was thought to stop the spread of disease, things like that.

Sounds like an awesome vacation bmoore- definitely something to strive for. Although as I get older, flying becomes less appealing, I think I will have to experience once in a lifetime trips like that in the future.

Bmoore will you post another link to your photo site? I meant to check it out, but I lost the link:)

Happy Thanksgiving!
