Newly appointed U.S. Attorney watching Road Dog case.

Doc has accurately captured the situation occurring in the Road Dog case.  Those of us who have known Bob, Brent and family for any length of time have witnessed first-hand this years long vendetta being played out by certain members of local LE.  The unethical (not to mention illegal) actions being taken by a select few have been sickening to watch, and I shudder to think what could have happened had one honest person (Vince Cefalu) not come forward to expose the corruption.  Every person in America should be scared to death.... if it can happen to Bob and Brent it can happen to anyone.  We all need to take whatever steps are necessary to make sure this never happens to another person again.  Contact your local legislators now to make sure they know the depth of the corruption that has been going on right under their noses.  If they are unwilling to step in to correct these wrongs then we'll take it as high as necessary to make sure those responsible for this debacle are exposed and dealt with severely, to the fullest extent of the law.  Doc, I totally agree that "this case has been a lie from the onset" and the Modesto Bee needs to start asking the hard questions and expose those local LE officers and supervisors for their unscrupulous and illegal actions.

This is the first I have heard of the US atty. General was watching. I am glad to hear this. The corruption has got to stop, how many more people were already railroaded? We may never know.

If the Bee does not take note of the full extent of local and Gov. corruption...they will miss out.

The conduct of the prosecutors, the local police and the ATFE are the type of conduct that breaks the faith of the public.  If not for one cop who told the truth Holloway and all his associates would be in prison for long sentences.  I would rather have my police tell the truth and lose than lie and win.  The ATFE attacked their agent who told the truth.  This case has become more about how much ATF hates this agent than it is about what Holloway did wrong.  Next time you see a crime and ask yourself 'where are the cops when you need them' remember they are framing people for RICO.

It's refreshing that there are more and more disgudted with this PD, and that's not meaant as a lam oon the rank and file. Eveyone has a personality and some rub up against another's, if the PD cannot get past that, they should, sadly, seek another profession. 

If local (and other) law enforcement officers are shown to have lied, what then?  Do they get prosecuted for perjury?  Will this then finally be the start of changing a justice system that is susceptible to corruption at the hands of those with a vendetta to carry out?

Hopefully, by publicly exposing their lies and corruption, they will be held accountable.

If not by prosecutors or their respective departments, then by public outcry.

What has gone on in this county is too big of a story for it not to be covered by major news networks.

This is playing out in Federal Court...the stakes...or penalties should be higher.

News of this will get out.

I want to see Fladager held accountable for her people.

and turn it into a corrupt Local/Federal Law Enforcement case. 

It's obvious that more tax dollars are going to be spent so let's spend them on cleaning up the law enforcement departments (local and federal)...get rid of the scum, drain the pond, and start over.

There was in FACT a story posted on this site after Bee reporter did a featured story on October 21st. The story is at http://www.modbee.com/featured/story/901252.html

The question is, WHY IS IT PULLED from the hive. It would appear that someone did not want this story front and center. This is typical of this entire case. The Prosecutors acting like defense attorneys, witholding evidence, hiding witnesses, delaying the facts from getting to the Judge. If it looks like a duck, waddles like a duck and quacks................its probably a duck.  In light of the questionable practices of ATF and the United States Attorneys office in recent history, including the Vang Pao case, it would seem that Leslie Albrechts thoughtful article whether or not the newly appointed U S Atty would change the way they do business and hold anyone accountable was a fair question. Someone didnt think so because it was definitely pulled from the blog. Someone should ask the bee WHY?

so if you have a good discussion going especially if it is going against the threads initiator's direction, copy and paste it to another thread or take the discussion to another thread.

Some here will delete their own threads at the drop of a hat if they don't like the direction it's going in.

Yes, that was the blog I had been looking for, and it did have some very important dialogue.  It was posted after Leslie Albrecht's article, and it was posted, I believe, by Linda Taylor (aka: Activist1).  The removal of that entire dialogue is very unfortunate, but I believe it took a turn that A1 had not anticipated (i.e. confirmation of local and federal LE's perjury, lying and corruption, etc.). 

I didn't realize that deleting was an option or that someone would even delete a thread that was being posted on almost daily.  That is messed up because there was some good stuff on that thread/blog. 

I will remember to take the discussion elsewhere if I want to ensure that it continues. 

Anyone got a "heads-up" on who is famous for this dirty trick (should I be aware of some more than others)?

The discussion of exposing the corruption through national news seems to have scared someone.  Just because the blog is pulled doesn't mean that we all forget what we were discussing...I have never been through the ATF "Lose My Memory" Machine. 

I must say that I am much wiser now...I'll start printing the threads that I post to and I WON'T lose my paperwork (like the ATF).

With the outrageous conduct of the leadership within the Bureau of ATF, in concert with the local Police department, Sherriffs Department and the DA's office, the U.S. Attorney in Sacramento has the opportunity to go on record that the Federal government will not tolerate roughshod investigations or prosecutions. The recent dismissal of the Vang Pao indictment and the Road Dog debacle (both based on the investigative leadership of the ATF), suggest that any real oversight is non-existent. Were either of those cases significant to spend millions of dollars of taxpayer money and thousands of hours of Federal investigative time and resources on? Was the vendetta aginst Holloway (albeit he was probably of questionable character) worth the credibility of law enforcement? Is continuing this farce in the face of the obvious dubious nature and perjurous content and witholding evidence worth the future credibility of the Agencies? There was no organization, that is obvious. Isnt the Racketeering Influenced Corrupt ORGANIZATION Act designed and intended to get organized crime off the street? Yes it will sting for the U.S. Attorney to step in and gain control of his Office. Yes the media and the defendants will have a short lived field day. But isnt that far better in the long run? Does there have to be formal Perjury investigations against, Downs, Gleysteen, Bort, Seese, Armaderiz, Gallagher and Bunch? How does more wasted time and money serve the community? It is quite reasonable to believe that these agencies are already taking or preparing to take internal measure to hold these people accountable and insure this does not get repeated. We have guns leaving California and going into Mexico faster than the illegals are coming across the other way. Drug and gun violence is out of control and ATF can slow that process and have a positive impact once integrity is restored. If this case continues, and the Agents called to testify Nov. 18th unequivically state that the representations of thos who preceed them fabricated, misrepresented and outright lied to Judge, Wanger, the government will then have no choice but to prosecute these Agents and any other Officer who attempts to spin this debacle further. Why has'nt the Gov. called Elias, the Two supervisory local Officers, Gallagher, and Armaderiz? Why didnt Bunch get called when he was in the court room? Why are one or more of these key players on Administrative leave at this time? The Bee has shown a rightful support of law enforcement and should continue to report pro law enforcement stories, UNTIL THEY ARE NO LONGER WORTHY OF BEING SUPPORTED. They have been fair and balanced, they have not created this drama but for their own credibility we hope when it becomes clear through compelling and independant testimony that this case was a lie from the onset, that they ask questions on the communities behalf.
