After Deadline: Grand jury clears Turlock Councilwoman Jackson, says Riverbank Councilman Jesse White should step down

After reviewing a thick stack of paperwork, I have a different opinion. You know, I'm telling you, we the people are in serious trouble!

The system that is set up to protect the public doesn't even come close to doing it's job.

This gives a green light to any politician in this county who wants to take part in what can be considered shady behavior.

Yet, they find that a councilmember in Riverbank violated the rules by running without being a registered voter...that's taboo, but go ahead and do anything you want if you registered properly.

Our Grand Jury is a joke!

upset because action-jackson was right, and you libeled her on your website.

This is great news about Mary Jackson.   She has nothing to hide and never did.  

Now, the city council can put all of these things behind them and get down to business as an active body of elected representatives that respect each other and work together.  Turlock needs to be taken seriously. 

I have heard there  is to be a libel/harassment lawsuit in this matter and the matter of the Robo Caller.

I am against this kind of malicious gossip being spread. That's what we conservatives are trying to get away from now so we can be taken seriously once again.

A public apology is in order by A1 to all party's including the Grand Jury for calling them a "joke".

I should have known, this person is scary!!  I am just starting to come and visit more regularly at the Hive and from what blogs I read that she writes, there is alot of "targeting" going on towards folks.

The name calling, the slamming of peoples opinions, the accusations, my goodness it is all so overwhelming.  If everyone here would just ignore her post and not respond to any garbage she spews then she would hopefully fade away....

Unfortunately that is only a wish, but wouldn't it be nice?  So Activist went after this poor Councilwoman in Turlock? Why?  that would be nice to see Ms. Jackson finally get some rest now and make this Activist "eat crow"

I don't know what's more disturbing, the alleged photograph of the alleged activist being posted 1,000,000 times in thumbnail size, or the GIANT photo of Jesse James White that is attacking me on the modbee.com top story right now...  dude is 20? Has he been smoking cigarettes since he was 8?

Is Turlock's Mayor John Lazar guilty of using his position to line his pockets? Corruption in Turlock.

First of all, it’s no secret that I’m against corruption on any level. To me, it doesn’t matter who you are, if you are an elected official, you have no business engaging in underhanded, or shady dealings.

Dan Grey, is the owner of Staley’s Bar, he wants to get a liquor license to open a high end cocktail lounge called “The Vintage”, in downtown Turlock. In March Dan received notice that his liquor license, would not be granted. The license was turned down because of over saturation in the Turlock downtown area. The area is zoned for 4 liquor licenses and there are currently 12 in use.

In May, under recommendation of the City Manager, Public Convenience or Necessity Committee created by council resolution, granting the City Manager sole authority on ABC liquor license applications.

The application for “Vintage Lounge” was received in July.

In October the Public Convenience and Necessity Committee unanimously votes to deny a type 48 bar license, this was also opposed by our Police Chief, based on over saturation.

Attorney Axel Gomez files an appeal with the City Manager, on behalf of Dan grey.

The City Manager grants the appeal in favor of “The Vintage” liquor license on November 3rd.

The planning commission approved the conditional use permit on November 6th.

Staley’s bar receives 200 percent more problem calls for law enforcement then any other establishment in Turlock, so why would the City Manager approve Dan Grey to open another Bar downtown?

The lease for this building was signed in June, but why would anyone sign a lease for a bar in June after being turned down for a liquor license in March? Because Mayor John Lazar is the realtor on record. He represents the building owner, Louise Tamey. Now remember that the sole authority to grant this liquor license now belongs to the City Manager, Tim Kerr, Lazar’s buddy.

It’s interesting too because other people were interested in the same building, but they were told there was no way a liquor license would be issued, because of the problem of over saturation.

Why were the rules for obtaining a liquor license changed in May, between the March predevelopment meeting and the July application to operate “The Vintage”?

Why would Dan Grey sign a lease on a building in June, that was rejected for a liquor license in March? He had to have known the liquor license would be approved.

And Guess what... Attorney Axel Gomez was Mary Jackson's campaign manager. Remember her? Will Mary Jackson recuse herself from Tuesday's meeting? From what I understand she told the person who asked this very question... to "F" off.

Has the mayor used the power of his office and the City manager to line his pockets?

Perhaps an investigation is in order.

About an hour before tonight's meeting I get about 50 phone calls telling me not to attend tonight's meeting. I hear the Mayor has read my blog. Well who cares! I've never seen so many cowards in all my life. No one wants to stand up to this guy. So, you deserve what you get. If you want a Mayor that lines his pocket's, by all means cower down. The people of Turlock shouldn't expect anything resembling a backbone. I think the council forget's who they work for! Even though I was asked repeatedly not to attend tonight's meeting I went anyway. It was worth the look on some people's faces, when I walked in the door, and I told the Mayor that I wasn't happy. He had the nerve to act like he didn't know what I was talking about. I am so sick and tired of politics as usual.

This is not the end of this.

I see no damage done by Ms. Jackson. Where is the harm?

Harm, damage, loss, injury, ad-infinitum.....None, Nada, Zilch-Zero, Activist. Where too, is "willful-misconduct" .

You tell us where she has harmed anyone. Ms. Jackson had every right to sit in the meeting. Contrary to the City attorney position, she had several professionals whom gave her the go-ahead. This will be a part of the investigative process too, don't forget. Additionally, she was not even a "swing-vote", it's just makes no sense.

This is my prediction. The Grand Jury process will take place. Ms. Jackson will continue to serve her Community. And after this whole "Esquire magazine worthy" dilemma runs it's usual course, the City will go back to efforts to eradicate all the Illegal Street Drugs and Gangs that have taken over your Community and hopefully return Turlock to the fine city it once was.

"Ya-all" have damn sure got your priorities out of whack, that's for sure. And who loses in the end. The men, women and children living in Turlock.

You have really opened up another can of worms here again Activist. Have you heard anymore about the Robo-Call rumors that name you?

If Mary Jackson has committed a crime she has to be held accountable. She is NOT above the law.

She can call this a "witch hunt" all she wants, but I believe she's just trying to divert attention away from her own actions.

It's very unfortunate for everyone that it has come to this.

And to think that former council member Kurt Vander Weide lost his seat to someone like her.

So you ask me if I have a personal vendetta against Jackson, and I say I don’t have time for a personal vendetta I’m too busy looking for the truth and what is best for my community. I’m also not the type of person to have vendettas in the first place.

I’ve been asked why I don’t call Jackson and ask her questions. I’m not interested in rehearsed generic political talk. It’s just not real. I’m well known in Turlock and fairly well connected and for Jackson to tell me she’s decided to run a deceptive campaign would not be in her best interest. She wouldn’t admit it anyway. She knows who I am, so calling her is a waste of time. I wont get the truth that way.

Let me tell you how I see Jackson, she stands back with a leash attached to her arm and on the other end of the leash is a great big 5 headed attack dog. You might remember her drive by attacks on my other Jackson blog. It’s not just the Hive either. I don’t trust someone who sits back and allows attack dogs to speak for them. She wont come forward to answer concerns, and we know what that say’s about her.

I’ve had numerous people call and tell me that she’s lied to them. She’s said she’s running a “grassroots” campaign and it’s simply not true. She’s taken money from unions. I don’t understand the reason for the deception in the first place, she should have been upfront and honest from the beginning like Kurt and Amy were. Why try to hide it? She’s accusing both candidates of taking money from developers yet she asked the same developers for the same money, but because she didn’t get it, now it’s a tactic used to bash Kurt and Amy. It’s just dirty politics, and what voters have to ask themselves is- what dirty tactic would she be using now if she had received money from the same developers?

Jackson is using the slogan “It’s all about action”, but again I’m asking-what action? What exactly has she done for Turlock? David Fransen and I both worked hard on building a skate park, we worked together on Turlock’s first battle of the bands for teenagers. Not once have I ever heard of Jackson doing anything for Turlock. This slogan is another deception Jackson is trying to sell to voters. Now she’s trying to sell something else- Help the mayor vote for Jackson. As if Turlock residents want or need a sidekick for the mayor on the city council. We need a person on the council who will stand up and fight for this community, someone who understands the issues we face. We have serious gang, drug and crime issues, we need someone dedicated to public safety.

During this economic crisis we do not need a candidate that is willing to spend 10 million dollars on an arts center, and another 500 thousand out of the general fund to operate it. What started out as a 2 million dollar project has now grown into a 10 million dollar project and it’s still growing. I’ve said for many years that it’s all about priorities and our priority is first and foremost for the security and safety of our community. What good is it to build a 10 million dollar arts center when we have residents who feel as if they are prisoners in their own homes? To spend 500 thousand a year to operate the center would fund 5 police officers, and during this financial mess, public safety must be the first priority. I support the arts too, but we have to prioritize right now. It wont always be that way, but right now we must focus on important issues affecting our community. We can not afford any candidate that believes that an arts center is what we need right now.

Lastly, let’s not forget that it was a homeless man who burned the Carnegie Arts Center to the ground. Yet Jackson sided with homeless advocates at the expense of the well being of our community. She wanted to keep the B street warehouse open in spite of the fact that the Fire Marshall had condemned it, that Parole agents were bringing registered sex offenders into our community, and the cries from residents, and business owners in the area surrounding the United Samaritan Foundation fell on deaf ears. I received many phone calls from business owners in the general surrounding area and many had the same legitimate concerns. If you owned a business would you want to go to work everyday, walking through urine? Would you want to watch public sex acts? Would you want to paint over graffiti weekly, that was sprayed onto your business in retaliation for speaking up? Would you want to be neighbors with an organization who refuses to take any responsibility for the daily actions of the people they serve? This is what Jackson supports.

Jackson has proven she has no backbone, she has no individuality, no solutions, no common sense, no fiscal prudence, no track record of community involvement, no commitment to law abiding tax paying citizens, no concern for public safety, and no regard for the truth.

Jackson is wrong for Turlock.

She states she is well knowned in Turlock? Hmm, I never heard of her.  I use to work downtown even, but that is many years ago.  I would remember her face as I did my other customers. 

As I have stated she is not my activist!  (or my husband and children)

WOW!!!!  Why is this craaaaaazzzzyyyyyyyyy lady even involved in politics in Turlock?  She doesn't even live there.  I believe she is also running Adam Christiansen's campaign.  At least, I think she said that.  She's a staunch supporter of his and has represented herself as a campaign worker or running it or something.

In my opinion, I don't believe Sheriff Christianson would be involved too closely with this loose cannon.

I am also a supporter of his, and will be for the next election.  Anyone can claim to be a campaign worker, but whether it's true or not is another story.  Let's hope Adam's people are aware of her shenanigans and keeps her AWAY!!

Let me start off by saying that you and I do not share the same opinion of the Sheriff, but I respect your opinion.

I know time is valuable, but please take some time and do various searches of the Hive for more information.

Linda is the No.1 supporter of the Sheriff. And that is no fluke. He feeds her information to counter people who post anything that is adverse to him.

At one time Linda was on the campaign against the Sheriff when she thought he was blowing her off. Once he figured out that she was the loudest screeching voice on the Hive he smoozed her into thinking he was the end all to crime and drugs.

Lachia, just check it out for yourself. In the end it is your opinion and you have a right to it.

to me, I have better things to do than read up on all of her blogs.  I have seen a few of her writings on her support for the Sheriff.  I have visited here in the past so I know somewhat how she feels about him.

I appreciate you telling me this but I still feel that our Sheriff is above all of this.  He also has more important things to deal with besides the Hive, so I will just say that I'm aware that she is his No. 1 supporter here and good for her.

Imagine that though, she was AGAISNT him when things were not going her way, hmmmmmmmm interesting and sad at the same time. just proves her fickleness doesn't it? 

I admire our Sheriff very much, and I know that this is not a popular position to take here at the Hive but, it is what it is.  He is doing a good job, and I am not going to debate it at this time.

My blogging is happening only because I have decided to visit and read what is happening in and around Modesto from the general public.  I really have no desire to even read what she contributes during my time here, in fact I most likely will cease posting and reading the Hive because she is so negative towards everyone and everything.

I responded to some of the postings regarding her because what I read was shocking, to think that she has caused so much havoc for many folks and to the people here.

It's been an interesting week visiting, and I may come back to visit once in awhile, but I actually don't care enough to continue to even read the Hive, if everytime any of us posts she is going to harass me and others.

To bad there wasn't an "ignore" button on her screen name so we didn't have to even see her rantings.   Take care and have a nice holiday weekend POOF
