Inexpensive Summer Fun: Bowling

Here's a low-cost, air-conditioned option for those mega-hot summer days. Parents of children age 15 and under can take advantage of KidsBowlFree.com. Kids signed up by their parents will get two free games a day, all summer, at participating bowling alleys.
Things to Know:
• Be sure to read all the fine print, and be aware that the free passes will be emailed to you on a weekly basis.
• You need to call ahead to confirm a lane is available and that no restrictions are in place for the time or day.
• "For a limited time," you can add as many as four adults to the 2-games-a-day program for about $25.
• Shoe rental charges still apply. (At Yosemite Lanes in Modesto, you can purchase a $25 per person summer shoe rental pass.)

I LOVE this game!
It is the only sport I ever won a trophy for playing.
I won 'most improved'.
I was a shoe-in; I'm so lousy, I have no where to go but UP!
thank you for this information.
@LSK49rs
LOL!
Confession: After almost 12 years of living in the valley, I still haven't gotten used to this kind of bowling. In my hometown, we did candlepin bowling, and it was so much easier for me. I'm pretty much hopeless with ten-pin bowling, and usually end up hurting myself.
I am grateful that my son, unlike me, has improved his technique over time. When we first started going to the bowling alley, he was just three years old, but he would haul that heavy ball over his head and more or less toss it down the alley. I was a wreck!

Was a great place during its hayday for bowling and video games here in Turlock. I am still waiting for a new bowling business to open here. Still have my own ball and shoes!

now that's a committed sportsman
your own SHOES??? That's committment.
I have a mental picture of the little boy heaving the ball over his head...that is hilarious. I remember the first time I bowled. I swung my arm back and let go of the ball and injured a cocktail waitress.
