Fifty Shmifty

My dad turned fifty this weekend. It was quite the production. There was a party, a pretty big party actually. He brought in the new age with just about 75 of his closest family and friends. Turning fifty hasn’t really seemed to bug him all that much. In fact, he has embraced it quite well. I really hope that when I turn fifty I am just as happy as my dad is. I can’t picture myself at that age and still being the procrastinating, day dreaming, mind wandering kid that I am today. My dad says that in many ways he still views himself the same way he did when he was seventeen. I wonder if that is genetic…

Nope

Unless you mean genetic in terms of shared by all of us.  Every time I pass a mirror and see that lady in it, I think "Who is she?  Not the same person who slept in the parking lot of the Cow Palace for three days so she could be up front for the Stones?"

Yeah, but that person scares me!

That person in the mirror scares the dickens out of me. Where did she come from? That old bat should get out of my mirror! :c) Your dad is correct, you will view yourself as when 17, 18, or early 20s, even. It is very similar. We all do this, I think. One more year is just one more year. It is unfortunate our bodies don't realize this, and stop sagging, wrinkling, slowing down, and all that.

And did you notice

that what that woman in the mirror has done with her FACE>  The one in mine?  She shifted everything downward....how did she do that?
