Legalize MJ! Town...by town...by town

Just like Breckenridge! Here is a cool article about how the successful legalization effort in Breckenridge has inspired other towns in both CO, and other states to follow suit. It is a strategy by the advocates of legalization that will probably be very effective I bet. The more places it becomes legal, the more of its own people that the federal government finds itself at war with. This has me totally amped.

Peace y'all!

Malcolm, One of Your Videos was VERY Disturbing

It was the one called 'kicked in the nuts. 'It couldnt' tell if those were setups or not. They sure looked real though. It is just hard to believe though that once people realize that they are on TV, that it is ok to be physically assaulted in the 'nads. At any rate, if it is the real deal, then you should watch (if you haven't already) Mike Judge's fabulous movie called Idiocracy. You seem to have the sense for the twisted and weird that makes this movie EXTREMELY enjoyable. The whole premise of the film is that in the present, smart people aren't breeding enough, and dumb people are way over breeding. So five hundred years in the future, the world is ruled by complete morons.

What makes you video so disturbing is that the worlds favorite TV show in the future is called "Ow! My Balls". The whole show consists of nothing but one guy getting hurt in the testiculars in every conceivable way.

The Hive Zen Blog

Ok, here is the Zen blog.

As best as I understand Zen, it is a non-theistic religion. So when I practice Zen, I am making no effort to be 'spiritual', or religous. I used to definitively believe in God, now I just don't know. Through practicing Zen, I have come to not really care whether there is a God or not. That doesn't even seem to be a concern. There definitely doesn't seem to be any room for grace in Zen. It is entirely based upon one's own efforts. As I said before, I go out of my way to not learn about the beliefs of Buddhism. I used to do some reading about the practice of Zen by some Zen masters, but I don't even do that anymore. I dont' want my experience with sitting to be sullied by any expectations. So now I just sit for an hour in the mornings.

Town of Breckenridge Likely to Legalize Marijuana this Coming Tuesday

I don't know how THIS story flew under the radar. Breckenridge however, is likely to be the first place in the nation to actually legalize the possesion of marijuana for personal use. Of course it is just one town against a state, against the Feds (read DEAth). It sure is a step in the right direction though.
Colo. ski town could push marijuana legalization

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Voters in the Rocky Mountain town of Breckenridge will decide next week whether to legalize pot for all adults at a time when the movement to allow medical marijuana is gaining steam.

Good Story About Portugal's Decriminalization of Drugs

This comes from the Cato Institute. My favorite line in the piece is:

More significantly, none of the nightmare scenarios touted by preenactment decriminalization opponents — from rampant increases in drug usage among the young to the transformation of Lisbon into a haven for "drug tourists" — has occurred.

The shrill voices of prohibition will have none of it however, I am sure.

At any rate, the piece is data driven, and not bogged down by a lot of hot feelings as tends to be most pro-prohibition dialogue. Enjoy!
