So why does it seem that football coaches have something against baseball? Mine and my son's first experience.

So why is it that football coaches downplay baseball?

This is my son's first year playing football.  We have been a baseball family for seven years, so getting use to the football dynamics was quite a foreign thing. We figured if he was going to play in high school, we better get him some experience now, since he is in junior high school.

Sockpuppets, culpabilty , nonfeasance here on the hive??????? I have taken it upon myself to forward email to Dan Day

This is getting stupid and the hives failure to enforce their own rules is adding to the stupidity.  Dan has said what the guidelines are and he has acknowledged that many are breaking the rules. The problem I have is; this is creating a very unstable environment by not stepping in. I am a logical person, but, I do not see the logic here, Whether it is for or against someone I support. I do not agree with the (perceivable?) stalking of Robert Stanford by jheaton and do believe he may have a great case after this election is over.

The crap sockpuppet and activist1 put about Joe Cataline with illegally obtained pictures is a violation of hive rules. Yes, it does make me reconsider my vote, but it is what it is, and I think Olsen hasn't done enough to keep her on the council. I believe Joe will best represent what is most important “OUR YOUTH”.

Thought I would let everyone know the recent developements on posting pictures on the hive

I wanted to let everyone one know what I stumbled across this afternoon.  I wanted to make sure everyone knew so they would not be in violation of hive rules or worse.

Here's an simple, straightforward answer to almost all questions about posting photos and images: if you hold the copyright on the photo, you are free to post it. If you do not hold the copyright, you should not post it.

In a recent blog I was doing the back and forth thing Linda/Activist1/stancoinsider loves to do and she made this comment to me,

Maybe you are one of those people like Robert Stanford and Emerson Drake who believe that br

eaking the law is perfectly fine, as long as you can provide an extra long winded excuse for your actions.

I will not say anything bad about these two, but I have never broken the law or had so much as a speeding ticket. I have been attacked by people with much more credibilty than she. When I chose not to give her any more brownie points by posting to her blog she tried to bait me into responding. IT DIDN"T WORK MISSY. Just say no.

Staggering numbers, backers, in Modesto City Council race and Olsen tops the list. Why is that?

Incumbent Olsen leads in fund raising, with $46,355 this year.

The candidate with the second largest war chest after Olsen is District 4's Joe Muratore, a commercial real estate consultant. He's received $31,404 this year.

Perine has raised $15,041 in 2009. District 4 contender Robert Stanford has collected $1,564 during the same period.

STOP BICKERING LIKE A BUNCH OF TWO YEAR OLDS

When I first started coming here to the Hive I thought it was a great avenue to have adult conversation.  There is nothing like politics to bring about ones dislike for one another.  Over the last several months there has been a lot of bashing from many and against many.   I have tried to stay neutral unless attacked.  I have tried to handle myself with dignity and respect. We are all entitled to our opinions.  There is a very fine line between what is ones opinion and what is outright contempt of one another.  What I have witnessed in the past several days could only be construed as contempt for one another. Whether or not someone is affiliated poilitcally or not, it does not warrant the personal nature of some of these attacks.  For those that are partaking in this agenda I ask you to look deep inside and ask yourself if you are proud of the way you have conducted yourself.

District 5 Candidates and what they mean to our city

I have written a letter to the editor and am hopeful it will see print. I had too much to say and 200 words barely scratches the surface. Of course, I went over by a good fifty words because the system used to submit letters does not count words. I will have to trust the Bee to not change the message of my letter when they edit. In the past they have been fair in doing so. This letter is in support of who I believe is the best candidate for District 5. I know there is a lot more to discuss on both candidates and that is what this blog is for.
Please remember, when debating, it is wise not to personally attack someone for their views. Everyone has a right to their opinion and if we all thought alike it would be a boring world in which we live. In order to represent your side effectively one needs to look at both sides of the fence, only then can you make for a good debate and informed decision.

This is the letter to the editor:
