Fire destroys Modesto house that was site of pot raid - The city-owned house that was the site of a $1 million marijuana bust last week was destroyed by fire on Monday night, according to the Modesto Fire Department. [Local Modesto News]


Maybe it's just the part of me that relishes conspiracies and 'wheels-spinning-within-wheels' theory, but isn't the timing very odd?

I was crushed to hear that one of my favorite bands broke up today....

And while nobody here probably cares...I figure I'd post this in tribute to them anyways.

They were so unique. How many bands combine electronic synthesis with garbage cans? Punk with Electronica?

A Loaded Question: A Random Survey

I spent a good portion of yesterday attempting to gather testimony about healthcare in other countries. It started with a few emails that went like this:

"A hot topic in the states is the switch to socialized (or universal) health care.

As usual, the media is filled with tons of conflicting statistics and facts (something I'm seeing a lot more often, sadly)
I feel I cannot develop an opinion without facts. That's where all of you come in.
Please, educate me!
Do you live in a country with nationalized health care?

Does it suck? Why?

I'd seen a few sketches for this show and had to get the entire thing on DVD!

All of the writers are guys in their twenties, and I hear the show just got picked up by IFC.
