Does this bother you?

Sometimes things are just so obvious that it’s hard for me to believe that everyone capable of reading and understanding what they read can’t see what is happening. Why they don’t become irate with what has and is being done to them. They complain about things such as the national debt, but refuse to acknowledge the causes of this debt. They complain about American workers earning a living wage, but defend a CEO earning $17,000 per hour, while operating a company that needs to be bailed out with taxpayer money.

Teabaggers

I really don’t like to write things that paint anyone in a bad light, but I just couldn’t pass this up. As I watched the Teabaggers yesterday, and the leaders of the Republican Party that were there and how they were talking about how patriotic they were, it amazed me that they didn’t have things together. One of the things that struck me was Todd Akin (R-MO) as he was about to lead the crowed in the Pledge of Allegiance and his actual leading in that Pledge. First of all he said the it drove Liberals crazy; well that just in nothing short of a bald faced lie. I am a Liberal and for one thing I know the Pledge, which he doesn’t, secondly I have no problem saying it and living it. When I say he doesn’t know it that’s just what I mean. He led the crowd and when it came to the word “indivisible” he forgot it, the crowd had to interject it.

I finally agree with what Obama is doing

Finally President Obama is doing something for the working people of this nation. He has proposed to use some of the TARP money to loan to small banks in order to guarantee loans to small businesses. Small businesses are the major employer of this nation and so far in this recession they have completely ignored. It about time we did what was should have been done in the first place. I have expressed my distain for the big bank bailouts since they were first proposed. Hoover did the same thing in 1929 and it didn’t work then and it’s obvious that it isn’t working now. I realize that the stock market is up to about where it was before the recession began, but that really has no bearing on the economy of this nation. All they do is trade money and that is not national wealth, it is individual wealth, two different things.

Another thing, should bother you too

As the Stock Market hits 10,000 again everybody is all excited. “America is back!” What bothers me about this is if that’s the case then where are the jobs for the average American worker. Here again we have a few people being paid Millions of dollars and a Stock Market that is going through the roof and yet the average worker is losing everything they worked so hard to obtain. These people on Wall Street are doing exactly the same thing they did to bring this country and even the world to its knees. Nothing has changed; there are no new regulations to curb these kinds of transactions. Now although this bothers me, it isn’t what bothers me the most, because there is supposed to be Congressional action the rectify this, let’s hope that’s true.

One of the things that bother me

There are some things in the news lately that really bother me, so I have decided to blog about one of them that I think should bother everyone. One thing I don’t understand is why it has not been all over every media outlet. When we see ACORN on the news for days at a time on every channel and every radio talk show and we are told how bad they are then we see something like this and there is hardly a blip about it. But that isn’t all that is wrong here, the fact that there were 30 votes against an amendment meant to rectify the situation.

Hopefully some information

I really don’t know if any of you will be interested in this, but I do believe that it may shed some light on what we are experiencing today. This is from a study from the Regents Prep: U. S. History: Economics:

If we go back to WWI we find that the war was financed by the War Revenue Act which was War Bonds and increased taxes. After the war we had a down turn in the economy due to the reduction of war materials. This really didn’t last too long and between 1923 and 1929 we entered a period of prosperity where the per capita income increased about 30% and the Gross National Product increased about 40%. The thing was we had very little inflation to go along with this, which was good.

Why are they so Un-American?

This really bothers me. I’ve been away for the weekend so I didn’t get a chance to witness all this hyper celebration by all the right wing talk shows.

The IOC did not give the Olympics to Chicago for 2016, and that’s too bad. This would have created hundreds of thousands of jobs starting very soon in that city. It would have brought in billions of dollars to the local businesses and would actually create income throughout the rest of the United States. So why is it that all these right wing nut jobs are celebrating? Even George W. Bush lobbies for the Games to come to Chicago, because even he knew what a boost to the economy those games are.
