Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009Road Dog hearing might snag if ATF hangs on to files
Fresno-- A Wednesday hearing where undercover agents were expected to testify about the investigation into Road Dog Cycle owner Robert C. Holloway III could be postponed, lawyers on both sides say.

The hearing is planned for 1:30 p.m. at Fresno's federal courthouse.

It could be rescheduled because the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives hasn't given the court files from its 2005-06 investigation into Holloway, defense attorney Bill Osterhoudt said Monday.

Unions representing Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department employees have split on whom to endorse for sheriff come the June election.

Now, they're in court bickering over a name.

According to a complaint filed Tuesday in federal court, the groups both claim a legal right to call themselves the Stanislaus County Deputy Sheriff's Association.

STANISLAUS CUSTODIAL DEPUTY SHERIFF'S ASSOC. IS SUING THE PATROL DEPUTY SHERIFF'S ASSOC.

Wow, the SO is really divided. Unbelieveable. So much for camaraderie.

It appears the new Stanislaus Custodial Deputy Sheriff's  Assoc. is suing the patrol Deputy Sheriff Association:

Through June 30, Jackson had raised $12,700 while Christianson reported no donations. But the sheriff's campaign schedule shows a luncheon fund-raiser scheduled for Wednesday at downtown Modesto's Galletto Ristorante.
