AP: NYC Papers' Circulation Offices Raided
Investigators in New York City raided circulation offices at some of the nation's largest newspapers Tuesday as part of a union corruption probe, a law enforcement official said.
Police officers working with the Manhattan district attorney's office searched circulation offices of The New York Times in Queens, the New York Post and the Daily News in Manhattan, and El Diario in Brooklyn, the official said, speaking to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
Investigators were seeking paperwork related to the Newspaper and Mail Deliverers Union, which packages and delivers newspapers across the region.
Calls to the union's headquarters were not answered Tuesday. The news deliverers' parent union, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, referred inquiries to the local union.

Why Will 9/11 Terrorist Stand Trial In New York?
Submitted by AbstrACT on Sat, 2009-11-14 00:46.As I learn more information on trying Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, (mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks), in New York, I can't help but wonder why.
Is our government trying to protect this man? As I understand it, most cases involving 9/11 have gone before a military commission. Why not this guy? And who's footing the bill for this?
US Attorney General, Mark Holder stated that New York prosecutors are urged to seek the death penalty. New York has not executed anyone on death row since 1976. Mark Holder is aware of that. And what are we do with this man for the rest of his life? He is a ticking time bomb, or should I say, ticking suicide bomb.
Are we really going to let this man into the Country he so despises, and allow him to make a mockery of our justice system? Leave that to the OJ's of the world..... but let's draw a line in the sand on Terrorists.

The "Sniper" Was A Jihadist

Tax Payer Funded Abortions
Submitted by AbstrACT on Tue, 2009-11-10 16:07.Democratic lawmakers have been promoting the idea that the healthcare bills won't involve abortion services. Although Planned Parenthood has backed Obama's healthcare measures, they have said that Pro-Life groups have made false statements about the increase of availability of abortions in the healthcare bill being covered. "There's nothing in any of the current healthcare reform bills allowing for abortion coverage." They are liars! If it's true that taxpayers would not have been funding abortions, then all the fuss about excluding them in the bill? Hmmm? It's pretty obvious.

UFC: Machida v. Shogun
Submitted by AbstrACT on Sun, 2009-10-25 15:19.Last brought UFC 104 on PPV- Machida versus Shogun. I the fight began I was rooting for Machida. I have nothing against Shogun, but Machida's been at the top of his game for so long and worked so hard, I wanted to see him hold the Title and continue his undefeated record. ****
Round 1- Pretty even round, lots of kicks exchanged, but when it was said and done, I think Shogun took the round.**
Round 2- Again, close round. During this round however, Shogun begins to chip away at Machida's deadliest weapons- his legs. I thought this round went to Shogun as well. *****
Round 3- Mmmmmm- Again, it's close, but Machido lands a few, although he's in pain. Point-wise, I think an argument could be made that Machido won that round.

Calendars: By Allan Erickson
Submitted by AbstrACT on Sat, 2009-10-24 21:29.I bought Allan (ae) Erickson's calendar. Actually, I bought four. After seeing them online, I thought they could make a perfect Christmas gift, as they are unique and the picture's are amazing. I received them in the mail today and I am not disappointed. They are bigger than I thought they would be- slightly longer than a standard calendar, which I like. I am looking forward to sharing them with friends and family!
