Gangs of Turlock... No, it's not a movie.

Again today I was approached by a Turlock resident who is not happy with the gang situation in Turlock. She lives in an area over run with gang members. Frankly she's afraid to leave her house. As a matter of fact she has a strict rule-she nevers leaves her house after dark. Not even to take her dog out.

She insisted that the Turlock City Council is overlooking our gang situation by completely ignoring it. Is she right?

Is the Council overlooking Turlock's gang problem because they're too busy focusing their attention on building the newest, greatest, football field?

Has anyone ever walked out their front door only to hear a group of gang members screaming at a police officer who is parked near by...

"Get off our (bleeping) street p--, we own this street!"

(Cough) yeah, if you say so Barney Frank. Maybe we should reclassify Barney Frank to Barney Fife.

Rep Barney Frank has legislation pending to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule II.

Board of Supervisor Jim DeMartini said WHAT?

Of all people Jim DeMartini should know something about the nature of these lawsuits. The Modesto Bee clearly pointed out that Stanislaus County is NOT the only county experiencing a problem with frivilous lawsuits. But, for DeMartini to practically accuse the Sheriff of some kind of wrong doing is outrageous, and totally unaccepatable.

Mr. DeMartini, not too long ago I defended you after a certain former Turlock Journal reporter made some wild accusations against you. Does the name Serena Essapour ring a bell? She certainly alluded to the possibility that you two were involved in more then a "working" relationship, as a matter of fact she accused you of some form of sexual harrassment. Are those accusations true? Of course not, that's why I defended you, just as I am now defending the Sheriff.

Another shooter in Florida.

November 6, 2009 1:43 p.m. EST

Orlando, Florida (CNN) -- At least seven people with serious gunshot wounds were brought out of an Orlando, Florida, office building Friday, a spokeswoman with the city fire department said.

An Orlando Police Department spokeswoman identified the alleged shooter as Jason Rodriguez, who used to work in the building. He is still at large, said John Tormos of the Orlando Fire Department.

A spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, which is helping the city police department, said investigators are looking for a man wearing a blue Polo shirt, gray vest and blue jeans.

"We're in a search mode for the gunman," said Jim Solomons, a spokesman for the sheriff's office.

The City of Red Bluff bans pot dispensaries, marijuana cultivation. YES!

Here's a quote that I think is very important. Legalizers love to make threats.

“I will not be intimidated by the threat of a lawsuit,” he said. “We hear this all the time.”

Red Bluff bans marijuana dispensaries, medical pot cultivation

RED BLUFF – Despite more than two hours of impassioned pleas and threats of lawsuits, the City Council on Tuesday night approved two measures banning medical marijuana cultivation and dispensing within Red Bluff’s boundaries.

In a 4-1 vote, the panel amended the city code to specifically outlaw collectives and cultivation in all zones. In addition, the council unanimously adopted a temporary urgency ordinance that immediately prohibits dispensaries and collectives.

Councilman Jim Byrne voted against the code change, noting that any use not specifically permitted is prohibited.
