Police blotter
We're hoping to start posting a daily police blotter online once we work out some communication kinks with law enforcement agencies in the area.
Here's a sampling of what that might look like:
MODESTO
4/16/08, 11:06 p.m., El Vista/ Edgebrook (Case # 08-33686)
Several people in the area reported a naked man running around yelling. Officers located the 42-year-old man naked in the roadway. He called himself "Jesus Christ." Officers gave him several commands to stop, but instead he sprinted toward them. Officers deployed a beanbag and struck him twice before he was stopped and detained. He was taken in an ambulance to Doctors Medical Center for evaluation.
4/16/08, 11:08 p.m., McHenry/Standiford (Case # 08-33674)
An officer was driving by Cold Stone Creamery when he saw a man harassing a female outside. The officer ordered the man to stop. The man turned and charged the officer, who used his Taser to take the man into custody. He was taken to Doctors Medical Center and placed under a 72-hour hold for a mental health evaluation.
4/17/08, 12:05 a.m., Memorial Medical Center (Case # 08-33716)
Officers went to to Memorial Medical Center regarding a man with a head injury. The 20-year-old victim had a laceration on his head, and the possibility of more severe injuries. He was not interviewed because he was under sedation.
TURLOCK (Tuesday, April 15, 2008)
Shots fired: Officers responded to a report of a fight in the street and sounds of gunfire. When police arrived, everyone denied involvement in the incident. Three 9mm casings were found in the street. The suspect vehicle was a white Honda.
10:28 pm, 900 block South Rose (Case # 08-3648)
Weapons Offense / Drive-by shooting: This was a drive-by shooting into an occupied home. Police responded to a call of an assault near East Avenue and Rose. Officers stopped one of the two involved vehicles. Three people were inside, including an assault victim. He had been in a fight and had injuries to his face but refused to cooperate. Officers found bullet holes in a car and four in a house. One bullet appears to have missed a child by about two feet. The homeowners left when officers arrived and could not be found afterward. Police determined that this is an on-going dispute between two families or groups. The suspect vehicle is a silver compact. Eleven casings from a 9mm and 22-caliber weapon were found in street. The investigation is continuing.

I love this idea.
and thanks for including Turlock!
Yes..
Thanks. I live very close to one of the events. Not long ago shots were fired into a home very close to my home. They have kids that are active in a gang. By the time I got outside with my gun they were gone. The police were there in less than 5 minutes.
May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.
