A Few Good Men

If you pay attention to polls, which are subject to great scrutiny, the latest support for the Burning Bush is: 23 percent. That comes from CBS today; there are others, just as "reputable" as CBS, and all within 1-3 percentage points of each other.
If you know history, you know that these were the numbers Richard M. Nixon hovered around before he said to the world, "I am not a criminal," waved a couple of V-shaped fingers into the air and then retreated back into an Air-Force One helicopter to fly his thorns away from the Rose Garden forever.
In Watergate, what brought down the house of Tricky Dick wasn't the crime; bad as that was, but the cover-up. In Attorney-gate, what's unravelled the web of Pandora in the Bush regime's spin of malfeasance wasn't the crime, but the cover-up. And because of the sloppiness, born out of sheer arrogance, of trying to cover up their tracks- the rats got caught. Oh, nobody has gone to jail, yet... but we are just getting to that point.
If you're keeping up with the hearings into the firings across the board of Attorney Generals, your jaw, where it dropped, was still on the floor after watching the testimony of Gonzalez in "Round One." Who can ever forget his immortal outburst: "I now understand that there was a conversation between Kyle Sampson and I..." So how many prisoners kicked themselves after hearing our nation's top cop say that- for not using that flagrant lie in their own defense? Would there be any prisoners?
Okay, anyway... I digress...
Today's testimony from John Comey, acting AG in Ashcroft's absence while on medical leave, should not only send massive shivers up the spine of every American citizen, but this should have pre-empted "American Idol" to cover this earth-shattering, stop-the-press, you'll-know-where-you-were-the-rest-of-your-life-when-you-heard-it, news... If we lived in the "vision" of Team Bush's world, the music would die and there would be no need for any idols.
By the way, David Iglesias, fired prosecutor from New Mexico, was the lawyer for whom Tom Cruise played in the movie, "A Few Good Men." Mr. Iglesias made mistakes early in this scandal, trying to give his fellow Republican congressman, Pete Domenici of New Mexico, the benefit of the doublt; it is hard to think of questioning the integrity of the Executive Branch- the leaders who set the stage. But the Rovemeister, a Rottweiller, only intensified his grab and became more egregious. So David, an ethical man, a captain in the Naval Reserves, a defender and patriot of this country, a man of justice and a Republican man, wouldn't put politics over country.
Superman came back.

jg...
nice to "see" you keepin' an eye on things.
The one liner quote that will arise from this whole schtick... "I do not recall..."
Saw a great shot on the a.m. news of the guy keeping a score card of Gonzalez' use of that line.
If this were not all so tragic it would be funny.
Any clue what Bush will do with his 3rd term?
You Democrats will have to drop your talking points !!
It seems the only people that can bad mouth Mr Bush are the U.S. Liberals.
It looks like the Democrats and the liberals are the only ones that are irritating the rest of the world.
Every foreign country that holds an election just gets closer to the West and Mr Bush.
Germany, Pro-American, Angela Merkel Was the big winner !!
Australian, Prime Minister John Howard just was the big winner for third term and he is big supporter of Mr Bush
Canada, Conservative Party leader, Stephen Harper, good friend of Mr Bush, was big winner.
Britain, The good friend of Mr Bush, Tony Blair is retiring to let even a stronger friend of Mr Bush take charge.
Like I have always said you are watching to much of the liberal news, CBS,ABC, NBC. They are 100% LIBERAL and they are only talking to you Liberals and they try to say the things that will make you happy.
Use that head on your shoulders and start thinking for your self, you are being played for the biggest fool of them all.
ae...
I meant to link the letter AG's former classmates wrote that was published in the Washington Post, and thus... A Few Good Men...
When I tried to add the correct link, I could not as there was some kind-of outage and I couldn't get on line until now, so I'm posting it now. But the incorrect link fits right into the neocons grand agenda anyway, which was to have political control of the judicial system. Thank the aliens above their radar was picked up.
As for Bush's plan for number three? I don't think he has one- but I bet Dick does. For a VP who hasn't publicly stated desire to succeed his boss and run himself, he sure has/is working very hard for the Executive branch to have absolute power... absolutely.
Friends of mine on Capitol Hill have been hearing "the rumors" that L'il Adolf is drinking again. That makes perfect sense. He's an alcoholic who never seeked, nor wanted, professional help with his addiction; he just "stopped," and praises Jerry Falwell for "saving" him. (Well, George said God, but since Jerry thought he was and Jerry tried to manipulate his church down our throats, we'll just call the duck, a duck.)
Anyway, when Nixon was at 23 percent level of support, just as Boy George is now, it was said that Nixon was talking to presidential portraits... seeking "advice." Bush is talking to presidential bottles, seeking "advice"... like two drops of oil coming out of the same barrel.
If Shakespeare were penning this tragic saga in American history, he would have Cheney "encouraging" Bush's bottle therapy, then perhaps Dick would "help Bush" down a flight of presidential stairs... oops.
To some, this is hyperbole. But to those paying attention to the mendacious machinations of the Bush regime... nothing is impossible... and the closer we get to the '08 elections, the more nervous I am with Major Kong from "Dr. Strangelove" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtYKlCmsiO4 locked and loaded in the House.

You are so correct in saying ae, that if this weren't all so tragic, it would be funny...
