Anna Nicole Smith, 1967-2007

News of Anna Nicole Smith’s sudden death today ends a life for which the term “roller coaster” was coined. The former Playboy model turned octogenarian billionaire’s wife/widow turned E! reality star turned TrimSpa pitchwoman was a perpetually in the headlines. And through the years, her larger-than-life personality was always good for a chuckle or a head cluck. But recently, her life took a more tragic turn, first with the sudden death of her 20-year-old son Daniel then with the legal wranglings over the paternity of her 5-month old baby Dannielynn. It’s a sad end to a sad story. And, oddly enough, I think the folks over at the comedy blog Best. Week. Ever. summed up her death most poignantly. May she rest, finally, in peace.
